Nearly 1/2 way thru’ February already !

I can’t believe we are so far into February already. It seems like yesterday that it was Christmas.

The bad weather certainly quietened things down on the run up to Christmas. There were a couple of days that I couldn’t, or least didn’t really even want to try and get out of the street. There were obviously at lot of people off work due to the snow and ice that decided they wanted to have some lock work done (which is fair enough) but they didn’t seem to realise that if they couldn’t get their car in or out of their street, then it was probably unlikely that I was going to be able to get to them. I don’t like knocking back work but there are times when you just have to.

January has been quite busy but has been interlaced with the usual last minute rush (self inflicted) to get the Self Assessment Tax Form filled in. Think it was eventually submitted circa 2100 hrs on 31.01.2011…. not that I was leaving it to the last minute !!

Fortunately for most of you there seems to have been a slight fall in break-ins etc since New Year. Perhaps the persons responsible have made enough money out of the break-ins prior to Christmas that they can afford a quite month ! Please remember that if you have a mortice lock, then use it! Most insurance companies insist on mortice deadlocks being in place and used, particularly when the house is vacant. If you go out and leave your premises secured on the Yale only and a break in occurs, then it it is very likely that the insurance company will reduce your claim or perhaps even refuse to pay out.

If you are worried about whether you have the correct locks etc, then please give me a call. My advice is free.
