The last few weeks have seen a number of calls from residents and owners in the Edinburgh area regards replacing brass plates, handles, numerals etc. It would appear there is a least one organised gang that is going around Edinburgh areas such as Bruntsfield, Marchmont and Morningside stealing the above mentioned items. The most recent case involved a pair of pull handles that cost over £100 to replace with something similar to that stolen.

Bolting the handles or plates through the door is probably the only way to deter the thieves.
